Say NO to Valentine’s Day

in: Ideas and Thoughts,India

valentine.jpgValentine’s Day or Saint Valentine’s Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14. In North America and Europe, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. After the rapid growth of foreign companies in India,Most cities in India are westernized with McDonalds, MTV and Valentine’s Day. However If you are in India and want to celebrate Valentine’s day, then you will be in a big-big trouble because of Shiv Sena, Bajrang dal and party. Bal Thackeray headed Shiv Sena is the leader of anti Valentine’s day celebrations. Writing in his party paper, Samna, he stated:

“This shameless festival has been celebrated by our young people for the last 10 years, but it is totally contrary to Indian culture. We should focus on good work, good thoughts, love and harmony in our society, and not let such Western culture spoil us.”

However this is true upto some extent as Traditional Indian society does not approve of public display of affection between men and women, including hand-holding and kissing. A big section of Indian society is worried with the growing influence of western ideas on India. I also think we should oppose such western celebrations. Rather we should find some alternative way to celebrate all these occasions.

St Valentine’s Day is a dangerous way of importing the Western concept of relations between men and women. Sex before marriage is increasingly common in India due to all such festivals.

Are you agree with these points, write your comments.

Valentine day is a great marketing coup which has helped made western companies like Archies and Hallmarks collect more and more money. 10 year back there was no valentine and out of a sudden it became a holy day for expressing your love?

I strongly oppose Valentine day but at the same time I don’t have ever a bit of right to stop people celebrating it. So for those goons (from Shiv Sena, ABVP, Bajrang Dal etc) who think that they are saving our culture by simply doing rampage at restaurants and humiliating the couples, shame on them as they are just flirting with others freedom!

They sure don’t mind working jobs we used to have, buying jeans they used to never wear….they even started using nursing homes for parents instead of taking care of them! So why the outrage against a western holiday when their whole society has become western. I deal with these people on a daily basis through work (who like other companies has outsourced a huge amount to them) and they sure seem to like western paychecks.

Every single guy in this world wants to know what is the mantra of attracting a girl bole to ladki patane ka formula. I have one formula. You should be very careful in approaching any girl. Its not the look or physique that attract the girls now a days, but the most important thing is that how you interact with the girl?
Let’s talk about girls of age group 14 to 19. Treat them like kids and keep on praising them for all the things. Praising makes every girl happy. For girls of age group 19-25 you should be little careful because they must have learned a lot in this direction from their previous experiences. You must have to take your time before approaching them. Watch out for their activities, behaviour etc. Now pretend to have similar thinking. Then try to show that you both are made for their each other. This is a magical formula which normally works if everything goes right.

By the way Happy Valentine Day. I think this Mr. abhisays does not have any girl friend as he is writing such posts on Valentine day. abhisays Please don’t delete my comment.

what is wrong with you people?! let people do whatever they want to do. if they are so indulged in their culture than they will not do things that go againt it. and if they are not it is not a holiday’s fault, its the way they think. people are allowed to think in any which way they want to think, one day out of a year is not accountable for a large degree of distruction. if YOU dont want to celebrate valentines day than DONT, dont tell other people whats right or wrong, thats for THEM to decide.
